THERAPEUTIC CONSULTATION
What is Therapeutic Consultation?
Therapeutic Consultation (TC) is a service available to people with a Developmental Disability (DD) Wavier through Medicaid. This format, like coaching, provides assessments, training, and technical assistance to individuals, families, and caregivers in regards to behaviors. TC can be provided to reduce challenging behaviors, increase prosocial behaviors, or both. TC allows the BCBA to collaborate with the ISP team, conduct an assessment, develop a Behavior Intervention Plan, provide training and coaching to involved parties, and provide ongoing support, including regular data analysis of behavioral data, noting behavioral trends, revising the behavior plan as needed, and providing additional training or support as needed, all billed through Medicaid directly.
